Wonderfully serene. Urban legend says this Buddha, protector of the city, wept the night that Ayutthaya fell. Come get some blessings and stop by for some fortune from the "chopstick oracle"... You may fine it oddly accurate!

An active temple with a giant Buddha.. please dress appropriately. Offering some good angles for great photos. Conveniently in the middle of everything while you are walking from one ruin to the next.

A chapel with a statue of Phra mongkhon bophit. The statue in the chapel is 17m high. Its history was destroyed by the Burmese invasion in 1767. But after that, the Prime Minister of Burma visited and a chapel was built by donations. It was completed in 1992 with gold leaf approved by the Thai Fine Arts Department in 1990. Nowadays, not only as an archaeological site, many Thai people come to pray.

Beautifully preserved and manicured, this temple area is a great stop on a whirlwind tour of the temples of Ayutthaya. To visit the outdoor temples, foreigners need to pay 50 baht. The indoor temple and Golden Buddha were free to visit (or at least I didn't see a cost...).

Large Buddha statue. Cool to see. You can go inside and get your fortune read by shaking a tube of sticks. The fortune reading is “free” but a donation is recommended.

The effort to maintain the Historical and Religious authenticity is very evident. One of many wonderful temples in the Ancient City. I recommend you take at least 3 days and hire a tour driver and enjoy the Sites. A must visit if you are here on HOLIDAY.
