I ordered loin pork tonkatsu which was okay. The best menu for tonkatsu still be tenderloin kurobuta tonkatsu set! And the cabbage is great.

Excellent pork loin tonkatsu with all the essential sides and sauces. I'm sure my food would've tasted ten times better if it wasn't sitting on the counter under the air conditioning for about five minutes. Hopefully they hire more staff otherwise I'll have to schedule 1.5 hours out of my day just to have some fried pork chops.

This is one of most favorite place of tonkatsu restaurant I really like tonkatsu here. It’s hot crispy and delicious. Because of the batter is so good and bread crumbles is really soft and light. So when you fried the tonkatsu won’t be greasy and the inside is well cooked. For the pork inside the tonkatsu is really light maybe because they use Kurobuta pork. And the taste and flavor doesn't like the original tonkatsu in japan for me maybe because they adjust the test fo thai people. For the other thing I like about maisen is the refill of rice soup and especially slice cabbage, which is test so good with the salad dressing. And the price for me I think it’s a bit overpriced. But I think is worth to try. And the service is up to how much is the customer in that moment. For how to get there is really easy. Because Silom complex is next to BTS Saladaeng, you’ll se when you get off the train.

I'm not a fan of & never order tonkasu (deep fried Japanese pork chop) and Japanese curry back home. Maisen, a chain from Japan, specializes in this dish so it's a must 2-3x a year when I’m near a Maisen branch ? Batter around the pork is light, thin & crispy, and when you eat it, zero sense of grease or fat oozing out (the light mouth feel is from how they fry it, but you also get to choose a lean or fatty cut of pork chop when you order). The curry is mild but flavourful - it's said that good Japanese curry is made with over a dozen spices. Another excellent dish here is the salmon teriyaki - moist not over grilled. The teriyaki sauce is best I've ever had - thick nearly like molasses with deep smoky, sweet & salty taste. When I'm here, it's either the pork or the salmon! Their meal sets come with desert (e.g. green tea ice cream) and all you can eat shredded cabbage, which is very tasty with the two choices of dressing on your table - a sweet creamy sesame or a midly sweet & sour soy ginger dressing. Is a must for fans of these dishes & and if you're not, it may convert you too ;) Friendly staff speaks English, and the space is clean and bright.

One of the best tonkatsu chains restaurant. I tried first time at Tokyo, then I tried in Thailand, the taste is not much different. Can come here when I miss Japan. After ordered, free filled shredded cabbage will be served together with 2 seasonings, shoyu and sesame. Shoyu will be a bit salty, sesame is good taste. I like sesame because it can help to reduce greasy. For the meat, I love tenderloin kurobuta tonkatsu at this restaurant. Because this is not much oily and greasy. The tonkatsu is crispy at the outside and soft inside, still juicy. Not much fat like sirloin which has fat strip at the edge. Sauce of tonkatsu is quite sweet. There will be pickled vegetables in the set, but not strong taste. Then finish with green tea icecream. One set is really full. Price is not high compare with the taste and quality.

Good, delicious foods. But the service was quiet slow. Some menus were depleted.

Maisen is located on basement floor. I love tonkatsu here, well cooked and tasty. Sukiyaki is good but I don't like pork quality by comparing with price. If I didn't meet the waiter, I would give only 3 stars because of bad service from a waitress. She seemed polite and happier with her colleagues more than talking and acting with customers, unbelievable.
