★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Khao Laem National park is few hours away from Bangkok by car and close to Myanmar border. It encompasses Khao Laem Lake a man made lake behind Vajiralongkorn dam. You can take a boat tour of the park from Mon bridge area. During this tour you can visit locations of Bhuddist temples that went underwater when the dam was built and other historic temple on banks of the lake. It is far away from Bangkok but worth a trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a great place to camp against the backdrop of the lake, and it's hot during the day, but there's a cool breeze after 8 p.m.

You can see snakes even on the roads and fishing village floating on the river and much more nature experiences if you step off you bike and just go to discover yourself and the area.
Oh yes and sometime people give you a ride when you hitchhiking but the other day you must give it back to someone to keep the balance!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We used to be able to drive right up to the helicopter pad where the white observation post is located. Unfortunately now, to get to the observation post, you need to trek a significant distance up and down steep inclines to get to that spot.
While a moderate challenge when without any equipment, making the trek with professional photography equipment makes it a perilous trek that’s made even more challenging with the heat. Guess I’ll be giving this a miss from now on. Pity. It’s on of the few interesting places in Rayong.
