Quite detailed and a good collection. That said, the place isn't well kept. Hard to view artifacts when the glass behind which they are placed is not cleaned. Otherwise a fabulous place and educational on Thai history and WWII.

Interesting place. Slightly run down but still very much worth visiting for an insight into what happened here all those years ago. If you are visiting the bridge then you really must go here too as it is just 50 meters away. The staff were very helpful and friendly

This museum is a real shame. It marks an incredibly important episode of history but it absolutely butchers it. No sense of structure, lots of artefacts strewn around, poor English translations. You'd be better off going to visit the bridge and reading about it online.

Not in good shape. But to pass the history to next generation this is the only option. Old bikes.war heads (of course used ones), pocket watches , old notes, coins, car, train with track etc . Separate liquor ? and smoke packets that were used at that time of 1942 by japanees/thai/prisoners/etc

This museum examines WWII history and the Thai history for this region. Dozens of displays tell the World War 2 history from a Japanese point of view. There are lots of displays about the Thailand-Burma railway construction with Thai language and Japanese language signage - some with English language signs. During WWII there was a footbridge that went across the river - the museum is located at the southern end of where this footbridge was located. The museum has maintained the first 10 metres of the footbridge. There are lots of artefacts from World War II here - including Japanese guns and swords. There is a large series of story boards located to the left hand side of the museum entry that explain the political characters of World War 2. A lot of the artefacts here are not well maintained. We spent two hours slowly moving around this museum. The bathrooms are located downstairs - but they have no tissue paper.

Compared to the other Railway Museum (at half the price) in town this one is so much better. More "stuff" (see pictures) to see including WW2 propaganda printing presses, rail cars, pictures, motorcycles, etc. Not meant to be the British War Museum. Well worth a look if you are roaming around the bridge area. (I'm guessing Jeath is just a mistranslation of Death or just to distinguish it from the other Death museum).

Great museum! If you are interested about history, you can pass hours and hours in this museum, learning about history. Very well presented. And many beautiful objects. It’s definitely worthed the 50 Bahts of entrance fee. Don’t miss a visit to this museum if you are visiting Kanchanaburi. You can also learn a lot about the history of the city.
