A warning to all: once you have tried bespoke tailored clothing from Gulati, it will be impossible to return to buying retail, "ready made" clothing ever again. I initially discovered Gulati in 2008. What impressed me then was the quality and "fit" of the clothing that they created. It was so comfortable and I felt so confidant in my new clothes, unlike anything I had ever worn before. Over the years, as my needs/tastes changed, I would simply email Sam Gulati with pictures of what I was interested in, and because they saved my measurements, they would send new clothes over to me.
I was recently in Southeast Asia and decided to make a special trip out to Bangkok for the explicit purpose of getting several new suits and shirts made with fresh measurements. I again must emphasize: the Gulati family truly elevates their craft to an art. They typically recommend budgeting 3-4 days to get an order made for you-- after initial measurements with measuring tape, you will return 1-2x additionally to adjust the fit of the clothes until it is perfect just like you desire. (Hint: Do not bother with any tailors who claim to be able to make a suit in 12 hours. Any fool can stitch together clothing in a day. But quality at the level that Gulati creates requires patience and multiple fittings. Remember, the Pieta was not made in a day).
I recommend anyone interested in elevating the quality of their wardrobe to visit Gulati. Their prices are extremely fair and reasonable. And again, more than simple tailors, they have a real eye for fashion and provide extremely helpful advice/suggestions on the types of material to buy, styles, etc. all without being pushy in the slightest sense. I truly value their input when making choices, I never feel that they are pushing me in a direction.
Sam Gulati and his family have been my exclusive clothiers for over a decade and I look forward to continuing with them for their next 40 years in business!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On the busy Sukhumvit Road of Bangkok one popular feature is the presence of numerous tailoring shops that hadmcraft garments and in a jiffy. After having passed it a few times I went into Gulati impressed by their attractive decor which stands out as compared to other similar stores. They are at junction of two streets. The family running the store is generally present at the store and I was guided and my measurements taken by one of them. I noticed that they splurge attention and hospitality on their guests Including food and drink. By the customers I noticed in my two visits it seems they cater to a global clientele and discerning customers. I bought two tailored shirts and for that had option of Japanese or Italian fabric and customisation of the garment. Delivery was in under a day. I had forgotten to carry my payment receipt on day of garment delivery but they overlooked that and delivered me.

Time spend in Gulati store was both, efficient, because I get really good suit, and enjoyable, because I spend time with good company. They have made me suits, sport coats and shirts. Plus I've purchased a ton of their ties.
Their clothes always held up well over time and their prices are fantastic when compared to other tailors in Thailand.
The shop is family run by a father and his two sons. They take a lot of pride in their work.
I remember the first time I came in they asked me if I wanted a drink and they poured me some top shelf scotch while I waited. First class all the way!
I'd recommend Gulati Tailors to anyone who needs tailor made clothes in Bangkok.

For excellent quality tailored shirts and suits for less than you'd expect to pay for off the rack brand names back home. My father and two brothers have had suits and shirts made here as well, and they are also very happy with them. Highly recommended.
