★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you go at the weekend you can combine a trip to the Talaad Nam (water market) with a tour of the temple, which makes for a pleasurable experience. It's not a real Talaad Nam, just set beside a Klong (canal). I must say the Klong is very clean and full of fish and some ducks. The temple complex is fairly vast and their's always a monk in attendance at weekends, if making merit is your thing, or you just want to view Buddhism in action. The market is full of restaurants, so you're gonna be spoilt for choice eating wise, and has a couple of good view points, in particular a sort of miniature Chinese temple with a wishing well, where klongs intersect, set beside the bridge that connects the two halves of the market. Definitely a place to visit if you want to experience the real Thailand, very few Farang tourists, which is a plus in my view, a hidden unspoilt gem.
