The stairs to the temple are a long walk - however there is a road to the right that leads straight to the summit with plenty of parking for car or motorcycle.
Amazing views over the plateau of Khon Kaen.
Certainly worth a visit just to get close to Buddha.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A temple beside Ubolratana dam in Khon Kaen with the big Buddha statue at the top of the hill. At the hill, there's a good vibe with the beautiful scenery of Ubolratana dam, I recommends to come at the evening to see the sunset. You can walk along many stair steps or drive to the top hill. Driving is better ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a beautiful walk up to the temple! The steps are not steep but it's longer than it seems. It's a lovely walk up as the Buddha statue gets bigger and bigger in front of you. From the top, you get a good view of the never-ending stretches of land in front of the temple. Behind the temple, you can get a bird's eye view of the beautiful lake. There are benches and pavilions to sit around to enjoy the view.
