★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a very peaceful wat. Very quiet. It is being constructed so people can climb up into the steeple to view the surrounding areas. The prayer room next door is also beautiful and the garden has bright colors. These pics were taken of the wat from my nearby apartment. It was my favorite place to meditate in Bangkok.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wat Dhammaamongkol is beautiful and peaceful. The main hall is beautiful. The temple offers cooking, fruit carving, dress making, and computer classes at the building in the back on the weekends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spectacular temple compound just off the beaten path about 15 minutes walk from the nearest BTS station. In one of the buildings is a ginormous Buddha carved from one piece of Myanmarese jade. There is also the Willpower Institute where I believe one can get a degree in meditation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not just a place of worship, this temple also provides courses in Buddhism teaching, meditation, and a wide range of vocational training including Thai traditional massage, bakery, cooking, crafts, hair-cutting, etc. mostly for small fees. I highly admire its well-rounded mission.

The giant Buddha indoor is amazing
If you're Canadian, the Jade Buddha is a must to see since the jade rock is originally from BC
If you're driving, there's a big parking lot next door
