One of the must place to visit. There is an enigmatic aura in the place. The nostalgic feeling for early generation of wealthy Chinese merchants who made a good living in Thailand during early-mid 20th century. Due to the fact that Chinese immigrants have economically contributed and seamlessly blended in Thai society. This results in such a subtle harmony between Chinese lifestyle and Thai architecture in an example of small community ally. Highly recommended just to see and feel. Maybe 30-45 mins are enough. - By Siam Innoventure Drive for Siam Innovation District -

These old and mainly wodden buildings are interesting, but all doors closed, Tak officials not interested to make this a place of life, and the rest of Tak also not worth to stop, except some nice restaurants with beautiful river views on the south side of the Ping river.

Tak's famous Chinese Alley is a fascinating trip to the past, among the fabulous villas and mansions of the wealthy Chinese who once dominated Northern Thailand's economy. Most of the intricately designed houses of Chinese tax collectors and money lenders retained their former glory, and strolling around the quiet lanes gives you an idea of what life in Lanna cities used to be a century ago. Life now is very quiet and the place looks almost like a museum. There is very little activity going on, as the city has moved to the new part of town.

They are really few streets in Thailand where houses above 100 years can be watched. By chance some old houses were renew, not always in the best taste..
