★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great favouful local Thai salad & charcoal grill chicken wing and chicken leg (not so well marinated). But it's balance with the authentic spicy Thai salad. Popular with local office crowds. No English menu. No air conditioning. Expect to Q if you come during busy lunch time office hours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely out of the way to find this place but certainly worthy of the effort. The lady who makes the somtam is unmistakable in her bright pink outfit and crazy sunglasses. But the sontam was absolutely amazingly good, likely the best I've ever tasted in Thailand. And interestingly made with corn, papaya grapes and tomatoes. The grill chicken wings are also a must, marinated in coconut curry than grilled to juicy perfection.
Only problem is No one speaks English and there's no English menu. So either know how to order in thai or resort to age old method of pointing at pictures on phone and fingers for numbers of order

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unexpecting restaurant with authentic local food, frequented by locals. Go into the alley and keep an eye out for the green walls. The huge bbq pit here churns out delicious, juicy meats.
Cost: four of these dishes cost 400+ baht. Very well priced according to the local fare.
Recommendations : the somtam (papaya salad) is their signature but the pork neck and BBQ chicken thighs are also MUST ORDERS. The pork neck in particular was juicy, fatty and very tender. The outside had developed a tasty crust, best eaten fresh off the grill.
Notes: ordering can take some time as they get a lot of takeaway orders around lunch

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious food. Decently priced. Esan flavors. Grilled chicken wings are not to be missed (along with the somtum). The grilled pork ribs a little sweet as does the sauce.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After disappointing at Somtam Nua heading to Som Tam Jay So. Another restaurant recommended by Mark Wiens. Excellent BBQ chicken and pork. Special selection of Papaya salads. Extremely good experience. Food was good. Lunch time queue was a bit long at salad desk but it was worth of waiting. Thank you.
