★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall collections and exhibitions are okay. Though some signs lack of English explanations. But for the dual pricing is just unfair. (Thus minus 2 stars)
This is irrational for foreigners working in Thailand, who pay taxes as well, to pay 5 times more of entrance fee than the locals. I wonder if the logic behind Thai museum system is just about barricading foreigners to use their facilities? Then we do hope that they could use domestic taxes and local admission to maintain those places. Best wishes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situated few kilometers away from the city centre, the Khon Kaen national museum provides insights on the regional history, especially of KhonKaen and the province, Issan. The museum has a virtual guide to be used, so we can get information without the help of a translator.A bunch of artifacts were available and especially were useful to know the history of Buddhism and culture in Thailand. Foreigners should buy an entrance ticket

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting, focusing to 3/4th strongly on pre-Thai settlements, culture, religion and economy. Such as Ban-Chiang, Dvaravati, Khmer and then the early North-Eastern Thai/Lao periode.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The collections of the museum is ok. But foreigners have to pay 100 baht while thai people pay only 20 baht. Some of the installations even don’t have English translation. Not worth paying it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good collections and exhibitions are not followed by any interesting elaboration.
Roi Er museum found it way more interesting. Not much of city history. I wanted to find more about the Chinese influences clearly visible all around city, not mention even most important sites like city pillar temple.... Disappointed
