★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The museum was great and views are beautiful but the history is horrible, many died building this railway for the Japanese war machine. Here is a particularly horrible bit, hellfire pass where the rocks had to be broken day and night with hand tools for the railway to pass through with little to no food

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lots of history is connected to this location. It was a humbling experience to learn how the POW were treated and how they suffered. Truly an eye opener to walk the old railway line that was made by skeletal POWs.

My first time was in 2011 before the renovation in 2019. So, I saw the big improvement and I loved the new design of this place. (I also love the former one.) The new design experience and the storytelling were great. The new design made it easier to feel the loss and understand what really happened here during WWII.
Anyway, It would be great to add a big and obvious warning sign right at the exit door of the building that visitors must contact the staffs to bring the communication device with them if they decided to take the route 2. I read most of information panels and listened to the audio device, but I still missed the warning sign and didn’t know that we must contact the staffs before taking this route. And, while walking on the trail, my phone had lost a signal.
I and my friends were impressed by the design, facility and the trails. And, we would love to buy souvenior from here after our walk. It would be great to has the larger museum’s store. We were unlucky that we didn’t go back to the museum’s store before their closing time. We thought it was 5pm, but actually they closed at 4pm. So, we missed it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fantastic experience, albeit harrowing and poinient. The centre is very well designed, and a very simple yet evocative exhibition.
The walk to the first cutting and the memorial is very well kept and easy enough to navigate.
The centre were very well organised and the service and support were exceptional. They offered my mother a golf cart with driver to get her down to the memorial which was amazing as she would not have managed the stairs down to the trail. They offer this to the elderly and disabled, just ask at the information desk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ historic center On the way through the accommodation. I like the design. At first, I also appreciated that our government has designed it well. Read and read as the Australian government works. The staff explains the process very well. Admission is free. But can donate. Enter the building, there is a viewpoint and explain what Khao Khad Gorge is. After finishing, there is a video for about 10 minutes to watch when going down to the bottom of the building. There is a souvenir shop, water, a few snacks, and audio commentary by number. which is free of charge!!! Exit the building, walk down the stairs and you will see Khao Khad Gorge. Walk about 500 meters, 1 kilometer round trip (small path), if the full route is probably 5 km. Overall a great place. Thanks to the Australian government and officials. The management is excellent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its a beautiful well looked after building, all the custome facing staff spoke fantastic English.
By taking something so massivly horendous and focusing on individual stories it was immensly moving.
Not even as a focus on the war but the testament to the brave people who did and did not make it.
The walk is quite an eye opener, thinking of how uncomfortable we were in our proper shoes, clean water and air conditioned bus at the end.
Well worth the effort to go and see.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This memorable museum draw us back to the sadness and torture of the survivors from WWII. The museum is very informative, well-designed, tidy and clean. You can enjoy 10 minutes-walk to the Hellfire pass where is a part of Thailand to Myanmar railway.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you like historical places, then this is for you. It is amazing the work those prisoners done back in the day. It's quite hot and long trail, so be ready to have some sweat and tears. When I was visiting, center was closed due to covid so could not get the audio book. It's kind of dead even in weekends so not crowded at all.
