Weekdays would be best when there is no crowd and the prices are cheaper.

Straight from the sea to you.
There are 2 locations 1 just past the traffic lights on Chayipreuk and the other about 150-200 m further down the beach.
You'll see the food carts lined up and the ladies with scales to weigh the seafood.
If you can't or don't want to cook there is a lady set up outside the old,closed,7-11.
She will grill,fry or steam as you like.about 30 baht each category.We had mussells,fish,crab,shrimp and conch is sometimes available.
Catch of the day!oh and grilled cuttlefish
She also offers dipping sauces.
Buy,cook and head to the beach
.Sai Geow beach is close and lots of shade and the sand is fine it's a nature preserve,watch for the monkeys but do not approach.
Cute but wild animals.Its,like many ,a military installation
100 b for foreigners and 50 b for Thais
Free showers and toilets.Quiet beautiful beach.
Bring your own or rent chairs and mats.
Ps no motorcycles at Sai Geow beach

You can buy fresh sea food and use small restaurant on the opposite of the road to cook.
The down side is it had few and small crab.
