★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recommened for those (especially local) who might think that there's not much to see here. If you appreciate Thai's history, this would be one of a good places to spend half-one hour here.
There's also a museum which opens from 9am till (most likely) 4pm. You can also come in and enjoy jogging/biking around the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This historic site was the birthplace and home of Thailand's King Naresuan the Great. The Thai people love this king as he liberated them from Burmese invaders. Only some ancient ruins can be seen on the site together with a modern shrine dedicated to the great king. But this historic site sits lonely on the banks of the Nan River with ugly modern buildings almost encroaching and enclosing it. That's a shame as the site needs to be given more respect

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent, world class museum detailing both the history of Phitsanulok and the history of the Chan royal palace and surrounds during the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya periods.
The museum contains valuable information on the history and archaeological excavations at the site, including the three surrounding temples. I strongly recommend visiting the museum before exploring the palace and temple grounds.
Of particular interest is the excellent history of King Naresuan the Great, the renound Thai King who was born in, and ruled Phitsanulok.
A must see museum on any visit to Phitsanulok.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great historical place to come to pay respect King Naresuan. Very spacious place. Lots of parking lot, museum, building similarly to Ginger bread style house. It should have a day or half to visit inside the museum and walking around. Recommended.
