Needed to stay in singburi, I've stayed elsewhere before, thought I'd give this a try as it boasts of a view over the river. The windows were filthy with bird pooh. it was not possible to change the aircon, even though we asked for reception to send someone. it is basically either, very cold or off. the TV should be dual languages but the remote cannot change the language, so we didn't bother using it. The workmen who came to help, were rather rude. The breakfast is OK. the receptionist told us it was a really good one, with Thai food and an American breakfast. The egg and sausages were cold (foreigners REALLY DO NOT like cold food) the bread was the typical white non-specific stuff. the orange juice tasted like squash (watered down concentrate). The tea was like dishwater, the coffee was extremely strong. there was no milk available. (can't stand tea with creamer) The staff were not particularly helpful, although at reception, before you part with your money they seem lovely. The room was acceptable, but overpriced for what it was.

We stayed in this hotel on every visit for the past 20+ years. We also witnessed the slow decay of the hotel. Rooms are worn and looks ugly on floor and wall paper. Shower was changed but they didn’t change toilets and sinks which is still 20+ years. They should upgrade all rooms floor by floor and even charge a bit extra as 700 baht for a room including breakfast is very very cheap. The two main reasons, we still stay in this hotel is: 1. The maid on 4th floor, Baphai, who provides an excellent service 2. Walking distance to Chaisaeng Department Store as well as city center and market

At one time I am sure it's a beautiful hotel, now old and run down with super old carpet and towel (a white towel with a grey-ish shade to it, would be like a pet towel at our home). If you get the river view it is still nice and serene, there isn't much to what is called "the city view". The room is specious, there is a long counter with a flat screen TV, to the left of the TV you can use the counter as a work desk. Wi-Fi is a decent speed. The room has the weird musty old smell to it, not sure whether it's from the years of cigarette smoking or what, but it's not pleasant. The carpet felt a little crunchy, and sticky, from old age I believed. The bed is the old style spring box, we got a king size bed, you will wake up every time your partner rolls over or even move slightly. Mushy feel to it. Only one set of outlets behind the TV, to charge you mobile devices and camera. Bedsheet, blankets, pillow covers looked and felt old as well. Wallpaper were peeling everywhere. For our room, the bathroom has been newly renovated. Looks nice and clean, however, water heater is still the old unit from yester decade, and let the faucet runs a bit before brushing your teeth, otherwise you will get the extra iron from the old metal pipes. AC doesn't work so good, it was a little cool in the evening but turned warm in the morning, woke up with a sweaty body. Being a river side hotel it wasn't cheap compared to similar hotels in the same area (about $30-$35), although still very cheap you can find a better hotel with cheaper price. Chaisaeng has a newer hotel nearby but it's not on the river bank. Good news is that they are renovating the hotel, now they are working on 2nd and 3rd floor, within a few months everything should be good. In the meanwhile, if you want to get a good rest for now, perhaps there are better choices. Their new hotel is much better.

Nice place. Nice view. Nice basic hotel for suburban area. It’s on spot, riverside, clean, free WiFi, and free parking. Bar also nice for relaxing after long day. Accept be careful when you check out because maids may throw your belong things to trash ?. No coordination with front desk just throw. It was happened to me.

Almost a hidden gem, almost... I would like to emphasise the extremely attentive service of the hotel staff and especially the service in the restaurant. The service alone is in a class of its own. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and the rooms are pleasant. I may also mention the food and the ambience in a positive light. Internet is unfortunately unreliable. The signal strength varies greatly. Below the threshold there is no connection at all. Breakfast is a slap in the face compared to the restaurant. Furthermore, loud cheap gossip TV in the morning could ruin your appetite probably. I would certainly book again when I am in the region but definitely without breakfast...
