★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Buriram City Pillar shrine with a Chinese temple dedicated to Rama 1 as it's main deity next to it. Rama 1 was the founder of Buriram. Also interesting is it has a "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" relief on the walls of the Chinese temple. Come pray for your fortune and lottery number via the 2 sets of divinity sticks on the altar.
The City Pillar shrine is a new building constructed in a Khmer style. Has 5 door guardians (elephant, monkey, garuda etc) at it's doors with an old elephant skull along side the said city pillar.
Came around 8 in the morning and there wasn't a crowd. Well maintained, clean and peaceful place.
