★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sat 12 June, 1pm. Minutes after agreeing on Samsung repairs here, a message comes through. Bigger problem. Fair enough, that's life ... but requesting an extra 1300 thai baht (US$40) for the needed part - more than FOUR TIMES its cost and taking only 3 minutes extra to install since the back of my phone is already open - is robbery. Overall, the repair itself was reasonable quality, but BUYER BE WARNED: the money-hungry "big-markup at all costs" and lack of clear integrity to answer my question about necessity of extra part needs to stop. WHILE YOU'RE AT IT: be careful of every single vendor on level 4 in the mobile phone area at MBK. Not one phone here is of premium quality. Nothing is "as new" ... more likely badly damaged (from water, or a significant drop) and reconditioned with fake parts then resold at massively inflated prices. SAVE THE PAIN. AVOID MBK FOR PHONES AND PHONE REPAIRS.
